The probe can be dropped straight down by its control cable for an 85-degree wide-angle view. Used in this manner, you can see a large expanse of bottom, as well as fish under the boat. In conjunction with your existing sonar or fish-finder, you can identify hard bottom structure, and many species of fish before ever wetting your line. Trolling is simple. We've trolled the camera by its own steel-reinforced camera cable at speeds up to 12 knots, with no problems. For the smoothest trolling and total control, use a down rigger or planer and track the probe directly in front of your bait. Some users employ a release clip at the front of the probe, and run the bait or lure in that position to view or videotape the fish striking the bait. The release clip then does its job and the angler can play and land the fish as they usually would. The control cable exits the camera housing at the fin-end. By using a clamp, the cable's pivot point can be moved forward, changing the horizontal azimuth of the camera's trolling angle. For additional control, attach a length of mono filament or leader at the front of the probe, and "steer" by pulling left or right. Check you anchor. Attach a steel ring, cord, or rope..slide right down the anchor line and take a look, day or night. Also included in the kit is a pole attachment for use with any pole, gaff, or boat hook. |
